Abandoned Site
Abandoned Construction Site
This scene was my first attempt at Environment Design using Unreal Engine 5.
I greyboxed the scene first and then began to import assets, materials and decals from Quixel Megascans.
I took inspiration from my favourite game, The Last of Us and went for a run down, abandoned environment with lots of foliage.
Once the scene was complete, I then set up several cameras and rendered a cinematic to showcase the environment. This was all new to me, so it was a lot of trial and error.
I'm really happy with how this project turned out and I'm looking forward to creating more environments and cinematics based off my level designs.
Relater
Relater
Relater was a Patreon started by one of my favorite voice actors, Troy Baker. It was started during lockdown as a place for creative and like minded people to communicate and collaborate.
One day I decided to design the Relater logo in 3D, using Blender. I then used it in a short opening animation which I uploaded online. This led to Troy Baker and his team reaching out to ask if they could use the opening for their channel and if I'd be open the working with them in the future.
Though the Patreon eventually ended, this was an amazing experience which led me to new friends and also resulted in me starting my own small business.
Flatpacked
Flatpacked
Flatpacked is a game that our team created as part of the Power Up Programme at Teesside University. The game puts the player in the shoes of a cardboard box, exploring an office environment, completing objectives, time trials, collecting items, and creating chaos in the process.
The game's core mechanic is based on "flatpacking." This unique ability allows the player to become flat and slide under doors and other objects, granting access to previously out-of-reach areas. When the player returns to their original size, anything above them gets flipped over.
